UX design is the conception of the user experience for websites. Improving the user experience is a major challenge for brands, whether their sites pursue sales-oriented BtoC conversion objectives, or BtoB with an important informational focus. Le Backyard has the expertise and methodologies to analyze and improve your site's UX.
There are two cases to consider when working on the UX of a website. It can be the creation of a site for a new activity, or for an existing activity that was not present on the Internet. It can also be the redesign of an existing site. The UX design steps will then be different.
The first step in a website design project is to understand who you're talking to, your target users, your personas. This research is essential for designing and refining the UX design of a website. Numerous criteria, such as the context of use and the specificities of users (professions, ages), will be taken into account for the UX design.
Only after thisUX research phase can we start producing mock-ups. At the agency Le Backyardwireframes are always created in the form of co-design work: our experts co-design the various stages of the user journey directly with customers, and even with the site's beneficiaries.
In the case of a site redesign, the first step is to audit the existing site. There are still users on the site, and there is a history. A large amount of data can therefore be analyzed as part of a UX audit, in order to understand how the existing site is used, and any friction in use that needs to be eliminated.
Improving the UX design of an agency website involves a number of key stages, the sequence of which will vary according to the context of each project and the objectives being pursued.
The ergonomic and functional audit of a website identifies friction points and measures the interface's compliance with usability and accessibility standards as defined by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). The UX audit is an opportunity to identify which best practices are not respected in the site's ergonomics.
Le Backyard UX agency also carries out analytics audits, with the aim of characterizing user behaviors with the interface. By studying recurring behavioral patterns, we can identify cohorts of users who have failed, leading to abandonment or exiting the site without interaction. The term "failure" is used here from two points of view: for the user, who may not have found the information he or she was looking for, and for the brand, which may not have led the visitor towards a conversion path.
The audit leads to hypotheses to be verified, and recommendations to be implemented. Audit data and conclusions are like pieces of a complex puzzle to be assembled. The role of a UX agency is crucial here. Detecting anomalies alone is not enough to optimize a website's UX design: corrective action requires expertise, and above all must be part of an overall UX strategy.
Finally, improving the website's UX design involves designing the various interfaces, a phase in which the pieces of the puzzle are integrated and assembled. This subtle and complex stage requires the expertise of a UX designer. Numerous criteria need to be taken into account in order to eliminate any conversion and product usability problems.
